Downloading and Installing MileageWiz
Can I Download Without Paying for MileageWiz?
- Yes! Anyone can download and install MileageWiz for free. This will allow you to see that it really is as easy as the movie shows you it is! Before printing or doing any kind of 'real' Mileage Log, you will need to purchase a valid Product Key.
Download MileageWiz
Click the button above to start the download process.
After clicking on the button you should see a window titled "File Download". We suggest clicking the Save button and then saving it to your Desktop. After saving to your Desktop you should see an icon there titled "MileageWiz Installer.exe". This file is NOT MileageWiz. It is a program that installs MileageWiz and you have to double click (Run) it to install MileageWiz. (If you are new to downloading or have problems with the download, please read the help at the bottom of this page!)
Download the .Net Framework (only if installation tells you to!)
MileageWiz requires free software made by Microsoft called the ".Net Framework". This software is shipped with all new Windows operating systems and if your computer is very new then it will have this software. Otherwise you will need to download and install the .NET Framework before you can install MileageWiz. We recommend you try to install MileageWiz first and install the .NET Framework only if it is required.
Click on the button below to download the ".Net Framework".
The instructions are the same as above only the installation file is called "Dot Net Framework.exe. (If you have problems with the download, please read the help at the bottom of this page!) After you have downloaded and installed the .Net Framework you then need to run the installation again (MileageWiz Installer.exe). (If you saved the installation file to your Desktop as suggested above, then this just means double clicking on that icon again.)
Download .NET Framework
If you have problems downloading and installing.
When MileageWiz successfully installs you will see an icon on your Desktop that looks like this...
If you have successfully downloaded the MileageWiz installer to your Desktop you should see an icon that looks like this...
You double click on it to run the installer. The installer is not the MileageWiz program; it is a program that installs MileageWiz. If you do not see this icon, then repeat the steps in the second paragraph at the top of this page.
Problem #1: The absolute most common problem is failure to read and follow the instructions explicitly in the first handful of paragraphs above. (Most particularly relating to NOT using Internet Explorer.)
Problem #2: Another common problem is that people forget to run the MileageWiz Installer again after installing the ".Net Framework".
Problem #3: Another problem is clicking the "Run" (or "Open" button on older computers) in the "File Download" window. This loads the installer to a temporary folder on your computer where it can conflict with other installation programs. In this case, you will get a host of different errors usually mentioning some software other than MileageWiz. (This happens often with Netscape, Mozilla, FireFox, and AOL browsers.) We recommend using Internet Explorer to download, to click the "Save" button, and to save to your Desktop.
Problem #4: Another common problem is that a pop-up (i.e.-spyware) interrupts your browser during download. It can say that the download is complete, but the installer will not run when you double click on it because the file is incomplete. In this case, close all other applications (especially all browsers), start a new browser, and try the download again. If this continues then we recommend you reboot your computer and try again. If it continues then you might want to download and run Microsoft's free Spyware Remover. To get this free Spyware Remover go towww.Microsoft.com and type in Spyware in their Search textbox.
